Baseball Highlights: 2045 – Bases Loaded Edition from Eagle-Gryphon Games blends traditional baseball with strategic card play in a futuristic setting populated by robots, cyborgs, and “naturals.” Build your team and make tactical decisions as you compete through a series of baseball highlights.

Bases Loaded Edition

This edition contains all previously released expansions and promo cards, plus the All-Stars expansion and 12 additional promo cards. The base game box includes an insert to hold the contents and 25 card dividers labeled for the expansions and the 12 unique Starter Teams.

Bases Loaded includes 12 Starter Teams instead of 4, with one of each unique version.

Gameplay

Playing Baseball Highlights: 2045 is like watching a TV sports show’s highlights of early 21st-century baseball games. A full mini-game typically lasts 10–12 minutes, without tracking outs or innings in a play-by-play simulation.

Two players build their teams as they play, combining strategy in team building with tactics during the game. During each mini-game, players alternate playing six cards to simulate a full game’s highlights. Each card can include offensive actions, defensive actions, or both.

Do you thwart your opponent’s pending hits, launch an offensive play of your own, or use your better players to do both? Buy new free agents after each mini-game to improve your roster. The team that wins the most mini-games in the series is the champion.

Starter Team Exclusions

The following 12 alternate Starter Teams have been discontinued and are not included: Atlanta, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Detroit, Kansas City, Philadelphia, Florida, Texas, Canada, United Kingdom, Caribbean Basin, and Pan Asia.
